BCMM Federation Campaign Announcement

Federation Campaign Announcement

As we approach the closing chapters of the Romulan Campaign, we are beginning preparations for the next great adventure: the Federation Campaign.
We are excited to introduce you to the hero ship of this story — the U.S.S. Mako, an Intrepid-class vessel.

U.S.S. MAKO — NCC-81729

Ship History (Synopsis)

Captain: Vincent Stark
Executive Officer (XO): Commander Kenneth Teszlar
Science Officer: Lieutenant Jamieson Clark
Tactical Officer: Lieutenant Tamara Howard
Helm: Ensign Byron Lansing
Chief Engineer: Lieutenant Commander Ardira Ghali

Commission and Mission

The U.S.S. Mako was commissioned on Stardate 50234.9 at the Utopia Planitia Dockyards under the command of Captain Vincent Stark.
The starship embarked on a secret mission to the Gamma Quadrant, tasked with scouting outlying systems of Dominion space and searching for potential allies — hoping to force the Dominion into fighting a war on two fronts when hostilities inevitably broke out.

Trapped Behind Enemy Lines

Deep within enemy territory, nearly 1,500 light-years from the Bajoran/Eidran Wormhole, the Mako found itself surrounded by Dominion forces.
Hunted relentlessly by Jem’Hadar and Vorta ships, Captain Stark led the Mako on a desperate fight for survival, eluding pursuit while suffering massive damage on all decks.

Though contact was made with several alien races opposed to the Dominion, these uneasy allies helped the Mako’s crew out of both hope and fear. Despite repairs, the Mako could never be restored to full strength due to constant attacks.

The Final Stand at Eidran

On Stardate 51984.3, the Mako made its final stand at Eidran, only a few parsecs from the Bajoran/Eidran Wormhole. Facing five Dominion attack ships, the crew battled through hull breaches and fires raging across all decks.
Amidst the choking smoke and cascading system failures, the Mako was just 0.5 parsecs from the wormhole when the science officer detected high verteron particle emissions from the wormhole’s event horizon — the sign of a massive shockwave, magnitude 12.

Despite warnings about the risk of multiple hull breaches, Captain Stark ordered the Mako to engage maximum warp, racing to escape the oncoming shockwave. As the ship shook violently and the outer hull flaked apart, three Jem’Hadar ships were caught and destroyed. The Mako and one Dominion vessel were thrown clear — but the Mako, now out of control, was pulled into the gravitational field of the planet Eidran.

Nine Months on Eidran

For nine months, the crew worked tirelessly to repair the ship, carefully avoiding raising the Mako’s energy signature to avoid detection by Dominion patrols.
Buried near the coral reefs and beach shores, the Mako’s hull was painstakingly restored.

On Stardate 53247.1, a bold plan was set into motion: using shuttlecraft, worker bees, and maintenance pods, the Mako was raised from the white sands of Eidran.
But as the ship hovered in the tropical pre-dawn sky, a Jem’Hadar patrol spotted them.

Escape to the Wormhole

The Mako fought for every kilometer to break orbit. Long-range sensors detected a Dominion warship on intercept.
Determined to return home, Captain Stark ordered the Mako to make a dash for the wormhole — he had endured his fill of the Gamma Quadrant.

Under heavy fire, the Mako’s port nacelle was damaged by polaron beams. Even so, the battered ship entered the wormhole, leaving the Dominion ships behind.

To the surprise of Deep Space Nine, the long-lost Mako, previously declared destroyed during the Dominion War, emerged from the wormhole leaking warp plasma, but alive.

Honors and Refit

In honor of its service and survival, the U.S.S. Mako was inducted into the prestigious 1st Battle Fleet, commanded by Fleet Captain Jean-Luc Picard, on Stardate 53400.9.
The crew received commendations for bravery, the distinguished Starfleet Medal of Valor, and the Gold Leaf with Clusters.

Currently, the Mako is undergoing a major refit at Earth Dockyard Alpha, under the watchful eyes of Chief Engineer Ghali and Captain Stark.
The crew has been granted a twelve-month furlough in the Sol System.

Present Day

The U.S.S. Mako is now on patrol near the Cardassian Neutral Zone, assisting in the relocation of former Maquis and their families as they reclaim colonies lost under the Federation-Cardassian Treaty of 2368.

Get ready, captains — the Federation Campaign awaits!
